Getting started

  1. 1
    Download and run the installer

Double-click the .msi file and follow the prompts. VQLab installs to Program Files and adds Start menu and desktop shortcuts.

  2. 2
    Plug in your cable

Connect a K-line (KKL) USB cable. Not sure which one? See the cable guide.

  3. 3
    Back up your ECU

Open VQLab, choose your COM port and click Read ROM. Keep that stock backup somewhere safe before you change anything.

  4. 4
    Unlock Pro when you’re ready

Lite is free forever. To edit, patch and flash, enter a Pro licence key under Help > Licence. See Pro.

If Windows shows a warning

New software from a small developer can trigger Windows SmartScreen ("Windows protected your PC"). If you downloaded the installer from this page, click More info, then Run anyway. To check the file is genuine, compare its SHA-256 above with the output of Get-FileHash .\VQLab-0.1.0-x64-TEST.msi in PowerShell.
