Getting started

A Windows PC, a supported Nissan and a K-line (KKL) USB cable with a CH340 chip, which costs about $10 (FTDI cables don't work). Our cable guide shows exactly what to buy and where.

No. VQLab reflashes the stock ECU through the OBD2 port. There are no boards to fit and nothing to solder.

VQLab checks the ECU ID, keys, block list and checksums before writing, never touches the boot block, verifies after writing, and has a dry-run mode. Always back up your stock ROM first. Lite does that for free.

9 Nissan and Infiniti car generations across 19 ECU software versions, including the Fuga, Skyline (V35 and V36), 370Z, and GT-R (experimental). The Vehicles page lists every supported software ID.

Connect with VQLab Lite (free) and it reads the software ID from your ECU, then tells you whether it is supported.

Licences & pricing

A car uses one of your slots the first time you flash it. Reflashing the same car again is free. Editing and saving ROMs is unlimited.

No. Pro is a one-off payment of NZ$400, or NZ$350 at the launch price.

To activate Pro and the first time you flash a new car. Reflashing a car already on your licence works offline in the garage; VQLab checks in now and then, at least every 30 days.

Yes, within 14 days of purchase, as long as no car has been flashed with your licence. Ask from your account. No refunds after that, so try VQLab Lite (free) with your car and cable first. See the Terms.

Claude & safety

No. Claude can read maps and logs and, if you allow it, stage edits as undo steps. Saving and flashing are always your decision.

VQLab is sold for off-road and competition use. You are responsible for complying with emissions and vehicle laws where you live.
